Tip # 1 Take warm showers (not hot) 5-10 minutes will do. As much as a hot shower is enticing, don’t do it! It will cause dryness which will cause itching and cause irritation.
Tip # 2 Use soaps, or other cleansers with a high content of moisturizing ingredients such as Shea Butter, Coco Butter, Olive Oil and others. Fragrance-free soaps and fragrance-free skin care products are gentle and will cause less irritation.
Tip # 3 Moisturizing immediately after a shower or bath using creams, ointments or butters rich in ingredients such as Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Coco Butter or any other moisturizing butter or oil will lock moisture in and will cause less irritation.
Tip # 4 Finally, add moisture to the air with a humidifier to prevent dryness not only of the skin but also the nose, throat and lips.
Follow these guidelines and you’ll improve the appearance and health of your skin during these cold and dry winter months.
